Faculty History

The Faculty of Nursing, Prince of Songkla University established in 1973, was the first nursing education faculty in Southern Thailand. It aimed to manage tertiary education as the center of nursing education in the South of Thailand. At that time the Faculty of Nursing was formed as a Department of Nursing within the Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University. In the first year, nineteen students enrolled in the first program of the Diploma of Nursing and Midwifery. Later, the Department of Nursing offered the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and formally became the Faculty of Nursing in 1980.

Currently, the Faculty of Nursing Prince of Songkla University educates nurses, not only at Bachelor, but also at Master and Doctorate Levels. At graduate levels, we offer both Thai and international programs. In addition, we offer specific short-training courses in various fields.
